Here’s a beautifully shot video from Ronny Dahl documenting a trip he and a couple of friends took along the western Australian, north of Perth. They start at a place called Sandy Cape and head south through coastal national parks to end at Wedge Island.

Very nicely done…

YouTube user Ronny Dahl offers this video of off-roading in southwestern Australia’s Yeagarup Dunes and Callcup Hill. It features lots of Land Cruiser 70-series utes, water crossings and, of course, dunes and beach driving. Good fun and a beautiful spot.

Here’s another overlanding video from Down Under. YouTube user Ronny Dahl takes us to Murchison off-road adventure park in western Australia with a few friends. There are five trucks in the video. It’s interesting to see how each driver handles the obstacles a little differently. There’s some nice drone footage as well.

Save this one for when you have some time. It’s an hour and ten minutes of overlanding action as three mates head up the wild east coast of Australia’s northern Cape York Peninsula.

When I say wild, I do mean wild. They’ve gotten permission to drive much of it along the beach and have to take tides into account when rounding rocky points and crossing rivers. That and, of course, avoiding the crocodiles while doing a bit of night fishing. It looks like a lot of fun.

This video by Gavin Foreman and (his American girlfriend?) Wilms offers a first-hand overview of the western Australia’s remote Canning Stock Route. Watching the video is like traveling with knowledgeable friends. They cover the flora (aka bush tucka), fauna, aboriginal art, history, and dangers of this old stock route. It’s very well done.

In this video some guys from the Australian 4×4 magazine 4WD Action head down to Tasmania for some overlanding and camping. The trails are wet and tough, and it’s fun to watch them slog their way through. This classic Aussie stuff.

Here’s an interesting video showing Fraser Island, a popular off-road site on Australia’s east coast, just north of Brisbane.

The Toyota is towing a Conquerer UEV-490 trailer, which looks quite interesting with it’s fold-out, open-air kitchen. One interesting point about these trailers: they can be ordered to match the track width of the towing vehicle. That way the trailer just follows right in the tow vehicle’s tracks, which makes towing in sand or soft ground a lot easier.

This video is a heart-stopper. An Australian film crew crosses a tidal flat, gets stuck, and things go seriously pear-shaped from there. I was on the edge of my seat watching it.

It’s a perfect example of how small failures can compound into serious situations. Lessons? Plan ahead — in this case, know the tide. Stay calm and think things through — adrenaline can lead to more mistakes. And winch or snap-pull in straight line. And give yourself a mental high-five when you get it right! Shew!

Here’s footage of a Gen3 Mitsubishi Pajero/Montero tackling the very rutted Powerline Track in New South Wales, Australia. In this video the brake-actuated, limited slip system looks like it’s doing a job of getting the truck through some rough, wheel-in-the-air terrain. Nice to see.

Australian off-road motorcycle racer Chris Hollis enjoys a relaxing day at home in New South Wales, piloting his KTM around the back forty. Pay close attention at 0:36. That’s a nice move.

I like seeing a guy ride with this much speed and skill. Well done. And well shot by Shane Fletcher. The music is M83, “We Own the Sky.”
